My work unfolds through time.

Focusing on process-led work, my practice explores transformation and cycles drawing from overlooked details in the natural world. Engaging with Gilles Deleuze's concept of becoming, I approach repetition as a cycle of difference, where "to repeat is to begin again, to renew, to question and to refuse remaining the same"*. This aligns the work with ecological time rather than linear progression, emphasising continuous change rather than fixed outcomes.

The choice of material is important, working with paper, fabric, water and light, i deliberately embrace material instability, cyclical change, and express my conceptual interest into impermanence. 

Inviting viewers into a quieter space enables reflection into the acceptance of transformation, increasing our awareness that images are not fixed outcomes but moments within an ongoing process. 

Time and light are particularly important collaborators for my recent practice. I demonstrate vulnerability, fading and variation through complete reliance on light exposure and duration. The process of  making cyanotypes reveal the emergence and dissolution of images where figures blur, patterns accumulate and surfaces transition. The materials become active participants, allowing the art to remain responsive to its environment and resist control. 

This is where fragility becomes intentional rather than accidental, especially when exposing onto a cotton material and suspending the cyanotypes from the ceiling. 

Rather than seeking a resolution, the work resists permanence and control and instead embraces fluctuation and quiet transformation.
